A service of remembrance for children will be held in Liverpool’s Anglican Cathedral on Thursday 8th December at 7.30pm.
The service is organised by volunteers and staff from the Alder Centre at Alder Hey, which offers support to anyone affected by the death of a child, of any age and at any time. During the service children’s names will be read out and candles lit in memory of them; participants in the service will include parents and siblings personally affected by child loss. Everyone is welcome to attend.
John Lippitt, Volunteer Coordinator at the Alder Centre, said: “The build-up to Christmas can be a particularly difficult time for many families who have lost a child. The service gives them an opportunity for remembrance and reflection in the company of others who have experienced a similar loss”.
Families who would like a child’s name to be included in the service should arrive early to register. For more information contact the Alder Centre on 0151 252 5391.
